About

NEW DATES While the Metro vs. Florida Challenge was originally held on Thanksgiving weekend, starting in 2018 we tried something a little different. Because the FHSAA season did not actually start until the week after Thanksgiving, and to give our programs with multi-talented athletes still involved in football a chance to reach full strength, we moved the event to Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend!

The Metro vs. Florida Challenge is an event hosted by Apopka High School each year to test the skills of the Orlando-Metro Conference, widely regarded as one of the strongest regions of high school men's basketball in the state and perhaps the country, with a number of teams from this area frequently represented in state playoffs and championship games. In each game of this event, the Metro Conference puts its reputation on the line as one of its teams challenges another team from elsewhere in the State of Florida.
